Kitaro's debut solo album, Astral Voyage, appeared in 1978. His second album was Full Moon Story. That was followed by the first of the several soundtracks for "Silk Road," a documentary series shown on Japanese national television (NHK). The series ran for five years and the music was distilled into India (aka Tenjiku). (Out of Print)
