The Soong Sisters - CD Used

The Soong Sisters - CD Used
Kitaro's award winning motion picture soundtrack for the movie The Soong Sisters with a theme following the name of a prominent Chinese family whose members include Ching-ling (1890- ), the widow of Sun Yat-sen, and Mei-ling (1898- ), the wife of Chiang Kai-shek. Released in 1997. Filmed in Hong Kong by 'Golden Harvest Films'.

Inspired and written for the controversial Chinese Film, "The Soong Sisters," Kitaro's score features rich dynamic performances of orchestra colored by traditional Eastern instruments. Based on the three lives of sisters who grew up in the tumult of China's struggles with Communism and Nationalism. The Soong Sisters is also a story of family, love and religion. With the help of Randy Miller, who conducts the remarkable performances of the Northwest Sinfonia, the rich sounds of the orchestra compliment Kitaro's arrangement with magnificent and intense beauty. The results an enchanting arrangement that captures the sentiment of the early 20th Century China. Re-released in the U.S. as a single on 9 July 2002.
