Sacred Journey Of Kukai Vol. 1- CD

Sacred Journey Of Kukai Vol. 1- CD
This is Kitaro's first album in a new series of conceptual musical magic without borders. This album is dedicated to the Sacred Journey of Ku-kai and is directed towards worldwide spiritual inspirational and enlightenment after the events of September 11.

Kukai (also called Kobo Daishi), was born in 774 and died 835 A.D. He eventually founded the Shingon school of Japanese Buddhism. Kukai studied esoteric teaching in China, and after his return to Japan, founded a monastery on Mount Koya (Koyasan). The mountain is 2,500 feet high in the Wakayama prefecture in the Kansai region south of Nara and Kyoto.

In 2003, Kitaro began a traditional Japanese spiritual pilgrimage to many sacred Temples in Japan. Known as the Shikoku Henro Pilgrimage, this Journey will take him on a circular path to all 88 temples on the island of Shikoku, Japan. On Kitaro's journey, he will sample the sounds of each of the temple's bells as a basis for the compositions for Sacred Journey of Ku-kai. The music will also feature guest artists from around the world, including Tibetan Master and flutist Nawang Khechog (Karuna).

" I hope my music can contribute to this world even a little bit in this 21st Century. Thank you! Thank you! With palms joined together in prayer." - Kitaro

This album was released on 9 September 2003. For an additional album with a similar theme, please see Yakushiji - CD or Tamayura video or CD.
